We’ve been busy, so our blog has suffered!
A lot has happened in the last few months as we pushed hard to meet our deadlines – The roof is on and the house is buttoned up. All electrical and plumbing rough-ins are complete and inspected. I would say the mysteries and curve balls that remodels provide, have all come and gone, but there is always something that will pop up late in a project.
The majority of the mysteries that a home of this era can present are structural, and I think this project had its fair share of structural issues. There were areas where no foundation was present, windows and doors that were missing structural headers, and locations where the adobe bricks had literally turned to dust through years of decomposition – the plaster was literally holding walls together in various areas around the house.
